 Biological Sciences


Academic degree: Four years, Bachelor of Science degree (BS)

Training objectives: To grasp basic theory, knowledge and experimental skills of  Biological Sciences; be capable of acquiring knowledge, posing, discovering and handling questions; be able to do teachings, researches, and some related jobs of biological sciences at higher and secondary schools.

Main courses: botany, zoology, microbiology, genetics, cell-biology, ecology, molecular biology, Biomathematics, Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry, organic Chemistry, biochemistry, physiology, plant physiology, the Analects of biology teaching, basis of Humanities, Computer Application etc.
Career orientation: Mainly work in biological sciences and related teaching, researches at higher and secondary schools, occupations on laboratory testing like biological products, environmental protection, garden flowers, aquaculture and technical applications, production, development, management are also available.

Biotechnology (including Inspection and quarantine technology and Food security technology)

Academic degree: Four years, Bachelor of Science degree (BS)
This profession establishes “Inspection and quarantine technology and Food security technology”, after 3 years’ study, students can choose any profession according to the academic achievements and their will.

(1)Inspection and quarantine technology

Training objectives: To grasp modern biotechnological theory, experimental skills and basic theory of inspection and quarantine technology and food security technology, skills of experiments and appliance; be capable of acquiring knowledge, posing, discovering and handling questions; to be specialized technical personnel on inspection and quarantine technology field of biotechnology.

Main courses: botany, zoology, microbiology, genetics, cell-biology, chemistry, molecular biology, genetic engineering, cell engineering, hygienic test technology of environment, microbiology and microbiological inspection and quarantine technology, animal and plant quarantine etc.

Career orientation: Work in the technology development, production, management of entry-exit inspection and quarantine, Medicine, Pharmacy, Cosmetic, Food, bio-engineering, Agriculture, Environmental protection and Garden.

(2)Food security technology

Training objectives: To grasp modern biotechnological theory, experimental skills and basic theory of inspection and quarantine technology and food security technology, skills of experiments and appliance; be capable of acquiring knowledge, posing, discovering and handling questions; to be specialized technical personnel on related fields of biotechnology, especially the food security technology.

Main courses:botany,zoology,microbiology,genetics,cell-biology,chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, genetic engineering, cell engineering, hygienic test technology in food, microbiology and microbiological inspection and quarantine technology, animal and plant quarantine, hygienic test technology of environment etc.

Career orientation: Work in the technology development, production, and management of Agricultural products and food security, Medicine, Pharmacy, bio-engineering, Agriculture, Environmental protection and Garden etc.

Biological Engineering

Academic degree: Four years, Bachelor of Engineering (BS)
Training objectives: To grasp basic theory, methods and skills of  Biological engineering; be able to work independently, With the spirit of innovation and the ideas of investigation, study the market dynamics, Developing new products; be competent to the work of modern biological engineering technology,management, market development.

Main courses: General biology, microbiology, genetics, fermentation engineering, biochemistry, molecular biology, gene engineering, Chemical Technology, biological pharmacology, Engineering graphics, enzymatic engineering, cell engineering, biochemical engineering, chemical automation and instrumentation etc.

Career orientation: Work in related enterprises of modern gene products, green food, biomedical components processing, bio-pesticides, environmental biotechnology, and biological materials, microbial fermentation technology, biochemical products and other biochemical products and customs, quality inspection, education and research institutions, engaged in technology development, research, production, teaching, testing, management or marketing.
